Sorensen von der Universität Leiden in den Niederlanden mit dem diesjährigen Tübinger Förderpreis für Ältere Urgeschichte und Quartärökologie ausgezeichnet. In dieser Arbeit beschäftigte er sich mit der Frage nach der Feuerherstellung in Europa schon vor der Ankunft anatomisch moderner Menschen um 40.000 Jahre vor heute.
