Jupiter's Ruth2 and Roth2 Wiki: Third-party body parts

Third-party body parts for BoM-enabled bodies

Ruth2 v4, Roth2 v2 and the other bodies in the Ruth2 and Roth2 families that support Bakes-on-Mesh were made to be compatible with layer content made for the system body. Most of it was made before there was mesh. This includes skins, eyes and hairbases as well as tattoos, some of which technically add or modify body parts. However, classic avatar hair only serves as a hairbase; it cannot make hair grow out of a BoM-enabled mesh head like it can make hair grow out of the head of the system body.

One thing that's important to know about classic skins is that the vast majority of them was made before the introduction of tattoo layers in 2011. This means that most female skins have make-up firmly baked on. Before there were tattoo layers, the only way at all to wear make-up was to make it part of the skin because the head only had two layers, skin and hair. Many skin makers couldn't be bothered to make variants of their skins without make-up, probably also because nobody took into consideration that someone would even want to wear no make-up in the first place. Thus, female skins with no make-up are very hard to find.

The same goes for male skins with no traces of a beard, simply because male avatars with a stubble look more badass than male avatars with a clean-shaved face.
