Another FediGroups fact:

FediGroups is basically a "hack" based on Mastodon that recreates Friendica's most basic group/forum functionality on Mastodon. Each group is a Mastodon bot that automatically boosts everything that mentions it. And since it's all based on Mastodon, you have to mention the group in each comment unlike on Lemmy, /kbin, Mbin, PieFed, Friendica, Hubzilla, (streams) etc.

@FediGroups Admin How is a Mastodon group going to work well with Misskey, or any other AP app for that matter? gup.pe works barely on Hubzilla. But we have our own groups, connecting to diaspora and Zot as well. I doubt, that FediGroups is even planned to manage that, or is it?

@_jayrope @FediGroups Admin To be fair, FediGroups turns out to be working reasonably well with Hubzilla, once people with "Zot on the brain" get behind how it works and start interacting with it like they should with any Mastodon account.

Or someone like @PepeCyB (Hubzilla) doing a test run against FediGroups was unexpectedly expected.

Of course, it doesn't and can't possibly offer all the shebang Hubzilla-native forums do.
