Bevor ich meine Server zu Netcup migriert habe war ich bei Hetzner. Die waren zwar günstig. aber hatten grottigen Service: Bei Ausfall von Hardware oder bei Wartungsarbeiten wurde man nicht etwa benachrichtigt, aber nein, entweder man hat das per Zufall mitbekommen (weil plötzlich Dienste ausgefallen sind) oder auch nicht. Das hat z.B. mal zum Bruch der MySQL-Replikation geführt, ganz großes Kino.
Netcup dagegen heute morgen um 3:00:

aktuell liegt ein Ausfall am Node Ihres vServers vor. Dadurch ist folgender Ihrer vServer zur Zeit nicht erreichbar:

Uns ist der Ausfall bekannt und wir sind bemüht diesen so schnell wie möglich zu beheben. Sobald dies erfolgt ist, werden wir den Node und anschließend alle vServer des Nodes neu starten.

So eine Mail ist eigentlich eine Selbstverständlichkeit (außer man ist Hetzner, natürlich), die haben auch vor kurzem Wartungsarbeiten an den Hardwarenodes angekündigt, einen Zeitraum definiert, die VMs sauber heruntergefahren - während Hetzner in solchen Fällen saubere Beendung der VMs vollkommen egal war.
Ich bin froh von Hetzner weg zu sein, und die Tatsache dass Netcup noch dazu günstiger als Hetzner bei besserem Service ist, ist ein weiterer Pluspunkt :-)
