Extremely interesting article. And obviously very well researched, too. Giving not only background information to Grapefruits and it's place among the citrus family, but also it's history and ... some interactions with medication that seems to be really important to know.
As of the article grapefruits can pump up a drug's bioavailability to 100%, which is abnormal and can lead to overdosing as prescriptions always taking into account that usually just a fraction of the active agents actually arrive in our system. For some pills etc it's just 10%. And now imagine that after eating grapefruit, that 10% are suddenly 100% ... depending on the drug this can have unwanted and not always positive side effects.
