If you want to report a #Hubzilla bug, and you don't have a Framagit account, you're currently completely out of luck.

Framagit has closed registrations until further notice to combat a flood of spam.

And the @Hubzilla Support Forum is out cold. Zotadel, the hub that it's running on, has been offline for two days already, it doesn't have a clone, and nobody knows how to get into contact with the admin who seems to be AWOL.

The latter alone should teach you to have at least one clone of your channels if you seriously want to stick with Hubzilla. This goes even more for forums which should also reveal where their clones are.

@Jupiter Rowland I'd love +1000, but we don't have it.

There is already quite some hundreds of unattended bug reports and feature requests in the git ;) Not enough devs attending (not their fault i guess, it is voluntary work).

On the positive side we have an RC for 8.4 and I am just hoping, that there is som good stuff in it. I am a convert from Masodon myself, and i guess there'll be many more to come to Hubzilla.

The two softwares have one big, but deciding difference: Hubzilla really is made from a coder's point of view. That said a lot of obvious, easy, self-explaining stuff is seemingly missing or akward in there, although the software is mostly technically capable.

@_jayrope Makes me wonder what Hubzilla needs more of: devs who submit pull requests with bug fixes or main devs who review the PRs and, if okay, merge them into master. It has currently only got two open PRs in core and three in addons. But I guess if it did get more contributors, it'd also need more main devs.

And yes, it really goes to show that Hubzilla is the work of backend devs. Especially the documentation needs a permanent caretaker who actually knows how to explain stuff to casual users. It reads more like a technical specification, even though a project with Hubzilla's scope should have more of a user guide. Parts of it are even outdated by years.

@Jupiter Rowland Hmm. I was recently asked to contribute suggestions for changes or add-ons to the existing #Hubzilla help. It's almost hopeless. That monster needs to get completely rewritten actually. Too much for a mere user/solo admin like me. But i might start to write some type of quick help myself. All written from the point of view of a complete dumbie then.
