@jupiter_rowland what? if someone screenshots a post and leaves in the usernames, they should include the usernames in the alt text. how does that not work?

@shenanigarian of Babel You can include the user name in the alt-text as plain text. Like so: "shenanigarian of Babel". Or like so: "@⁠crowk". Or like so: "@⁠crowk@critter.cafe".

You cannot, however, include the user name in alt-text as a working, clickable mention that will attract the attention of the mentioned, like so: "@⁠crowk" or "@⁠crowk@critter.cafe". This doesn't work. Alt-text doesn't support hypertext, so hyperlinks and hashtags don't work there either.
