I've got a report about Mastodon v4.7.0-alpha.1 not federating with Mitra. Can anybody confirm this?

They recently merged FEP-8b32 signature verification, that might be relevant. All Mitra activities are signed

@mario Mastodon usually returns this error when you are instance-blocked and it can't fetch your actor / key.

I tried to follow an account on mastodon.online, which runs 4.7.0-nightly.2026-07-03 and it worked fine.

@silverpill @Mario Vavti infosec.exchange doesn't appear to list any Hubzilla hubs as blocked.

That is, I hope that the visible blocklist on Mastodon servers is always in sync with the actual blocklist and not maintained separately, i.e. that shadow-blocking servers isn't possible.

As far as i see it looks like a HTTP signature issue. They changed something there too.

Just for the record, the issue here was that Hubzilla did not provide its RSA public key as multibase. This has meanwhile been fixed both in Hubzilla and Mastodon.
