Viewing boosted Mastodon threads

When Mastodon threads are boosted onto my feed, is there a way I can view them as conversations on Hubzilla without needing to click through to Mastodon to access the thread on the Mastodon side?

Paraphrasing Mike Macgirvin's explanations: The underlying problem is that Mastodon does not have conversations. A Mastodon reply can link to the original post, which makes it findable (usually), or it can link to another reply, which makes it very hard to find if you're starting from the original post. Even if you view a thread on Mastodon, you will frequently not see the entire tree of replies in one place -- you may need to open the URL of a reply in order to see the next level of replies.

Not sure how you guys do it in Hubzilla, but in Streams, I can put the URL of a post or reply into the Search box, and my instance will load whatever it can find, and assemble it into something that looks like a conversation. I may need to do this with several Mastodon replies in sequence, in order to get more of the pseudo-conversation assembled.

It's the same on Hubzilla. That is, Hubzilla may start backfilling missing comments eventually.

Also, Hubzilla can't import what it considers a comment if the parent to that comment isn't on the stream yet. You always have to start with the post and then go for the comments.

In this particular instance, the replies that aren't showing up are the children of the toot in question, not the parents. That feels like it should be easier. Certainly most of the Mastodon threads on my feed seem to be preserved intact. I think the specific issue in this case was that the toot was boosted onto my feed.
