Any way to check if "Connections" from Mastodon are "following" me?

As I'm setting up my account here, I sent "Connection" requests to a bunch of the people I followed on Mastodon. I'm pretty sure that none of them have followed me back yet, but I'm not sure if there's any way I can check.

I get that Hubzilla "Connections" aren't really the same thing as Mastodon following, but is there a way to check on this?

In theory, a red dot on the profile picture = no permission granted to send a contact anything = they don't follow you. Yellow dot = some permissions granted, green dot = more permissions granted, in both cases = they do follow you.

In practice, it's broken.

Looks like the status dot of Hubzilla "Connections" to Mastodon people is mostly only broken with regard to unfollows?

So I can take a yellow dot as confirmation that they follow me? (And not just, for example, that they have permitted me to follow them?)

@Jupiter Rowland So far I have assumed that the yellow dot means that I follow the account, comments are allowed but my posts do not appear in the stream of the other person?

Yes, if they follow you, you will see their permission for "Can send me their channel stream and posts" with a check mark. Otherwise X.

@Markus The yellow button is graduated. What the contact allows is displayed on mouseover. There are yellow buttons where comments are allowed but your postings are not displayed, but there are also yellow buttons that also display your postings. The colour alone does not provide exact information about the level of connection.

@dynamic_hubzilla Yes, I think "permissions" added by the other side are displayed correctly. But I think "permissions" being removed, e.g. a Mastodon user unfollowing you (Mastodon doesn't know or have permissions per se), is not detected in most cases, nor is the disappearance of a contact.
