The general philosophy that drives a lot of our fediverse (and other) projects is simple: "you have the freedom to do what you want as long as it does not infringe on our freedoms" and "live and let live."
Or in practical terms, the concept of choice is prominent. We give people options. We give people agency. We give people control. We allow people to customize their experience. And we realize that not everyone is going to want the same thing.
As long as you are not hurting other people, who are we to stop you from living your best life your way? We just provide the tools. You chose how to live your life. You choose your fediverse experience.
