Hubzilla's Target Audience
When creating documentation and websites, it is important to specify and understand your intended audience. And many times, you have to address multiple audiences, like users, administrators, and developers.
We also have a unique situation where the Hubzilla Association and Federated Works both promote the same software, but to different audiences and for different use cases.
The most obvious audiences are:
- Hubzilla Users
- Hubzilla Administrators
- Hubzilla Developers
But we should also consider who we want to attract. We don't have to appeal to everyone; we just have to attract the people who would be interested in what our software offers.
Some examples include:
- Someone who wants control over the social media experiences, including privacy, access control, and moderation/filtering tools.
- Someone who wants to create a social community, ranging from friends & family to a public server.
- Someone who wants a fediverse-enabled website.
What audiences do we want to attract and what use cases do we want to promote on our website and in our documentation?
