I just read an esoteric Jewish speculation that Adam's 'rib' was actually the penis bone (which humans oddly do not have) removed through the scar-looking tissue of the perianum. Now I'm wondering how many other cultures have explanations for this odd area. It would seem to suggest that we are sewn back up like stuffed ragdolls from below.
