What does "Home" mean in Hubzilla?
As most of you know, I am creating new themes, and my themes are designed to enable the creation of content & community websites in addition to providing a new look to non-content Hubzilla hubs. But there is the sticky issue of what "home" means, with different people having different opinions on this. I wanted to hear from a variety of people on the topic.
Here is how Hubzilla works now:
1. If you are logged in, the root of the website "/" goes to HQ.
2. If you are not logged in, the root of the website is configurable by the admin.
3. If you are remotely logged into another hub, "take me home" returns you back to your HQ on your hub.
4. Hubzilla does not have a link called "home."
On traditional websites:
1. "Home" means the root "/" of the website, and typically points to the main content of that website.
In my themes:
2. The "Home" link is configurable by the admin, and can point to a specific page, or behave the same as root "/" does in Hubzilla. (It defaults to behaving like Hubzilla root "/" does.)
Since I am building fediverse-enabled content website, my themes give you the option of pointing "home" to any content you want, which on my websites, would be the main content of the website. The same content that you would get if you were not logged into Hubzilla and went to the root "/" of the hub.
I have gotten some feedback that using "home" in this manner is confusing to Hubzilla users, since they expect it to behave similarly to "take me home" and send them to HQ.
Is using "home" to mean the main content of the website/hub confusing to Hubzilla users?
