First char of hashtags missing in links on Mastodon
I've just been notified that links to #
hashtags in my posts lack their first character on #
Mastodon 4.1. For example, when I write
#Hashtag, Mastodon users read,
#Hashtag, but the clickable link for searching for more appearances of the hashtag is
https://<InstanceDomain>/tags/ashtag.
I don't think the reason for this is because my hashtags usually start with a capital letter, and Mastodon removes leading capital letters, for
#BBcode becomes
https://<InstanceDomain>/tags/Bcode (only the first letter is missing; the second, capital letter is still there.
This may need some more investigation, especially regarding how other #
ActivityPub projects deal with hashtags from #
Hubzilla. Either the first character is missing everywhere, then it's likely a Hubzilla bug. Or the first character is only missing on Mastodon, then it's probably a bug on Mastodon's side which is unlikely to be fixed (since when does Mastodon try to become compatible with anything else).
