Concerning FaceApp (which I personally refuse even to install):

The moral of this story, then, is that you shouldn’t worry too much about a Russian app. You should worry about everything. We are only just beginning to understand the extent to which we live in a surveillance hell. We are only just beginning to realize that our faces no longer belong to us, they’ve been privatized.

That's true! -- If you are into computers, you know what things are possible and what the data can be used. Many people don't realize the potential danger of this, so far most of the time people lived in a world, where, e.g., many things were forgotten, simply because people can't remember everthing. Now with ever and ever more mighy computers, more and more data about everybody is accumulated, and you realize the "freedom" we had before just now, as it is lost more and more.
