@gispyskov I made a user there just last week. I used to like Facebook, and Friendica seems to have many of the same functions, plus some more. And I love that it talks with *every* other fediverse-platform. And it works with RSS feeds, so now I got my own little news/blog updates hub! 😁

But: the user interface is a bit complex for a tech newbie as me. But I am making progress!

What sort'a experience you lookin fer? I've been a happy Friendica user for a few years'r more. I can't really be of much help with the administery bits of it though.

@jupiter_rowland thx! I'm trying to figure out if i can help some people to move their communications from FB to something a bit less....evil.
they are looking to have multiple groups with different moderation rules.
i know i can spin up a basic forum, but I like the idea of being able to use one login for different things. i was thinking about self hosting an instance, but I'm not sure.

Prolly best to just set one up and see if does what you want. You might also wanna play around with Hubzilla or Streams as well.

@David @gispyskov If you're looking for a more advanced Facebook alternative with nomadic identity (semi-official website of the concept), and if you can live without connecting to diaspora* and subscribing to RSS/Atom feeds, you may want to check out (streams), a fork of a fork (insert lots of more forks) of Friendica by Friendica's creator (code repository instead of a website; only public instance with open registration in Europe).
