So this hub has just been upgraded to the fabled
Hubzilla 9.0.
Seems to me like the font in the stream itself was slightly enlarged, but maybe it's just me. Still, Hubzilla's old Redbasic UI has taken a step into the 2020s with new counters for thumbs up and thumbs down and an actually new counter for repeats.
Oh, and Hubzilla has repeats now. That's boosts for you Mastodon users. That doesn't mean that I can see how often my pre-Hubzilla 9 posts have been boosted.
Speaking of which, maybe the switch to ActivityStreams 2 means I'll have to upgrade my anti-boost filters. We'll see.
Also, it remains to be seen how Hubzilla 9 and Mastodon will interact. Pubcrawl can be switched between sending Article-type objects and Note-type objects now. It was switched to Note-type objects on my channel when I checked, but default seems to be Article-type objects.
I'll have to check how Mastodon can cope with them, so this post goes out Article-type. If it handles them gracefully when they lack a title, I can leave the switch on Article-type. This means I won't need long post CWs anymore, and I won't have to worry about sensitive images anymore either. For at least if I add a title, Mastodon will probably turn my post into a link plus the title instead of rendering it as a whole. But I need to know if Mastodon at least takes over the hashtags.
Some nasty bugs have been fixed, too, according to the changelog. For example, images from Mastodon are no longer shown in reverse order. I hope that this goes for images from Hubzilla on Mastodon as well.
