Complaining about the process of accessing original sources on the newest version of Mastodon

Slightly older version of Mastodon: no, see it's really easy to get a link to the original source of posts; all you have to do is right-click on the date, select "open in private window". Then, if you need the URL (e.g. to share on a non-Mastodon context), you can just copy and paste from the URL bar.
Newest version of Mastodon: you still need to do all the same steps as above, only now you also need to click through a "warning, you're leaving your current Mastodon instance" link.
There might be good intentions here, but it's really hard to shake the feeling that Mastodon is trying to create walled gardens that nudge you to never leave.
