I’m just a bit concerned about Wilds of Eldraine. Personally, I actually felt the Arthurian-Grimm balance in Throne somewhat favored the fairy tales, and now it looks to be tipping even further that way. I have faith it’ll be a good set, of course, just worried it won’t be for me.

Personally, I actually felt the Arthurian-Grimm balance in Throne somewhat favored the fairy tales, and now it looks to be tipping even further that way. I have faith it’ll be a good set, of course, just worried it won’t be for me.Here’s the problem. There’s a resonance imbalance. List everything related to Camelot. Now list everything related to fairy tales. The audience knowledge of the second list is so much deeper than the first.
For example, at one point we had the Green Knight in
Throne of Eldraine, and we kept getting notes that no one knew what it was referencing. The Green Knight! If you’re losing people at the Green Knight, the actual deep cuts are going to be way, way over their head.
