Could a vanilla matters theme be done with more cards like Invasion of Muraganda // Primordial Plasm? It’s not exactly a pure vanilla matters theme but after seeing that card I figured that’s the direction it would go in.People seem caught up in could we make a “vanilla matters” theme. Yeah, we could. There’s design technology to do it. The problem is would it be fun to play? Can we incorporate it synergistically in a set with other themes? Can we do it in an elegant way? Does Standard have enough cards to tie into the theme?
Whether or not we’re capable of doing something isn’t the bar we need to clear. The issue is can we do it in a way that will lead to the best product we can make?
