Is there a limit to the amount of DFCs you’re willing to make? I like DFCs, but as more have come out I think they make eternal formats more cumbersome.

There’s a limit per set, but not for the larger game of Magic. Eternal formats are just going to have to deal with the endless creation of new cards.

Why don’t we have historic paper tournaments
Two main reasons:
1) It’s an online format without much relevance to tabletop
2) Some of the cards don’t exist in paper.

It’s an if. The supplemental set has to be a large enough print run to justify it businesswise.

We’ve had to rework premier sets, but never replace them wholesale.
