Do you agree with Maro that superheroes are tilted towards Red/White? Personally I think this is mostly just for American heroes, as in media from other countries they tend to work with the existing government and such

Donated, yes. They can be transferred or taken with the right magic. But they’re not like an organ, they’re part of the soul.

There is some of that in the original Kamigawa, but it's not clear if that was part of the overall culture or just Kondo.

Once Michiko takes over as the first Emperor bonded with Kyodai, that ends. That was way before the modern day in Neon Dynasty.

Just to clarify, I was talking about an art from this story magic_wizards_com/en/news/magic-story/time-innovation-2016-08-31 (art by Victor Adame Minguez) where Saheeli clearly uses magic to create constructs out if a thin air in the middle of the fight and thousands of spectators on the arena see it. Must be quite hard to pretend she’s just super quick at building artifact creatures.

Magic's art isn't intended to be photographs into the world, but is often evocative over literal. It's hard to visually convey artifice, as a Magic. That Saheeli art is an illustration of a story moment where in no way does she construct something from nothing - what she's doing in that section is using her powers to guide her bird creature in battle. Saheeli's visual style are these flowing liquid gold threads, so that's what the art shows.

From your perspective, do you think the shift in set design and, somewhat consequently, story focus caused by there only being one planeswalker each set makes some more niche or previously “hard to include in a story” planeswalkers like Aminatou more or less likely to appear? Or the same?

Question: Do you think it’s likely we would have gotten Saheeli and Huatli in the same set before now if it wasn’t a major event?

I think you are much more likely to see former Planeswalkers that would have rarely or never gotten a card before as Legendaries now, for sure.

As far as I remember, the use of magic is strictly prohibited on Kaladesh, that’s why Chandra with her pyromantic powers was outlawed and had troubles with consuls. At the same time, there is Saheeli who clearly isn’t a “true” mechanic but a mage who shapes her creations with magic, which is depicted on her art multiple times. But she doesn’t have problems with law and was praised as a champion of many contests of inventors and such. Why?

Chandra's pyromancy was the problem. Magic itself isn't completely outlawed, it's just incredibly rare.

And not everyone is aware of Saheeli's magical powers. They haven't seen the card art, we have. They just think she's REALLY FAST at building stuff. Although they might know post-Aether Revolt.

For instance, when Tezzeret uses magic, Pia thinks he's cheating somehow but doesn't understand how in their duel.

There's nothing connecting the two.

Kasmina has virtually nothing in terms of background lore, I think the bit about her preparing for something worse than War of the Spark comes from The Art of Magic: the Gathering - War of the Spark. That's pretty much the whole thing. It's all on her wiki, there's not, like, more deep lore elsewhere.

Any Fomori lore comes from either Fifteen Commanders, Fifteen Tales or The Planes of Planechase. And now, of course, the new Planeswalker's Guide for LCI.

A person om reddit notices skeleton crew looks like vargus wrath. Vargus has a slightly different shoulder but they are pretty close. Do you know of their relation at all?
