I don't even think a rebuild is possible. Because the bad people of the party won't just go away and are just too many. And where is the problem to just make a new one? Why should there be only two major parties in the USA?

Sane people will start another Party. The likes of Kitzinger, Cheney, George Conway, Rick Wilson, et al, will have to start a new one. Call it the Conservative Party or some such.
