@mastodonmigration@mastodon.online @dansup@mastodon.social @ajsadauskas@social.vivaldi.net this smells slightly fishy (but just slightly) because like, that post is so concise and there's not a smidgen of legitimate concern you could find to justify what an algorithm might've thought was wrong with it. it's difficult to attributes ignorance to what only resembles pure malice. and I feel that if they genuinely want to silence this kind of stuff, they wouldn't be sending notifications like this admitting to it. because holy shit that looks bad for them.

has anyone else reproduced this result? i don't want to believe it just at face value from one person because, despite how much I may hate facebook, I do genuinely think they would be more competent at hiding their actions than depicted.

It is not just the specific post with the link that got labelled, but also all my previous posts before that post also got the same label since the label is applied to my profile. Corporate social media will always treat the users as their property.

@mastodonmigration @dansup @ajsadauskas Meta claims in the fine print users consent to the right of Meta to use users' photos for whatever reasons they want, including commercial use. I don't post my photos on Meta (Facebook) for that reason, but I understand the "free and fair use" law for my photos posted elsewhere. Meta likely fears losing photographers moving to Pixelfed.

@mastodonmigration I wondered if this could be because the post was so brief, so I tried something longer (below). Immediately flagged as spam. I requested a review, but then FB showed me the removed post notification again, so I don't know whether that was an FB bug (there are so many) or the review was automated and immediately declined.

Fuck Facebook, this is why I'm the process of deleting it.

What I posted:

I appealled it but don't know if anything happened because it was the last straw for me with that site. Still, reluctantly, have their messenger because some people important to me are slow to shift.

Not FB, but maybe related enough to be of interest. I posted a screenshot of an Apple Note to my IG account a few days ago in which I softly encouraged people who saw the post to follow my Pixelfed account. The post is still there and a few people have seen it (as many as would normally see a post of mine without any hashtags) so at least META isn't doing OCR on IG images yet.
