I've got 54 of those energy-sucking solar panels on my house, 256 on the roof of our family business, plus shares in two solar farms in Maine. I love those panels! Our electric bill at home came today: $13.66. That's what the local electric utility charges us for being connected to the grid--the electricity was free and we're banking the surplus for next winter. No cancer, house value keeps going up, and the sun will keep shining for about 5 billion years. C'mon North Carolina!

@bkahn @tofugolem I’ve got 17 sun suckers on my roof and my plants grow just fine (if I remember to water them).

We don’t have a grid fee here but I’d be happy to pay a reasonable one. We make more electricity than we use every month of the year and the utility company sends us a check instead of a bill.
