Programming is something of a hobby for me. It's fun.

One time, I used batch files to create a backup system between two file servers in different offices connected by a VPN (pretty exotic tech back then).

There was a different folder for each day of the week, so we could recover files up to 5 business days after a disaster.

Did I mention that I did this all in a batch file using XCOPY?

@PastaThief i used to think (and often proclaim) programming was something literally anyone can learn because I’m pretty good at it despite getting 68%/C-ish in HS dumbass math and learning just about everything on the job. Some of these folk went to uni ffs!. Vibe coders have proven me wrong.

Simulated intelligence gives you simulated code — you know, like the lines they put on the screen in Hollywood movies. That being said, if you know what you’re doing Claude and co. can give you a hacky starting point for debugging and fleshing out.

@PastaThief I don't do this often, but I was stuck on a bug in some analysis I was doing in Colab yesterday. After beating back Google Gemini doing its best Clippy impression for long enough, I asked Claude for help. Then I had to debug both Claude's code as well as my own.
