Ok, I feel like I'm going crazy. is there a way to set my post permissions to default to public instead of one of my privacy groups?

@Langdon Alger I have these settings done via /admin/site/ (Hubzilla latest, php 8x)
- My site has free access only (however yours can be something other)
- Registration - Default permission role for new accounts - Public

After this, when a new user is added after the main or first admin, those users can see that their default post permissions as public.

PS : what theme you are using in your site? tips/steps to change the theme, if possible?

@Hubzilla Support Forum I can see the above reply but the name "Langdon Alger" is not visible, the profile picture is also not visible. Am I the only one? If not, can someone help how to resolve this or not let it happen on our instances?

@amal This is not an issue with you, I'm @Langdon Alger. I've been switching back and forth with a few of my instances for testing things, and it's screwed up a few of the posts I've dropped in some places.

Could be in your channel role. For example, who can see your profile picture depends on your setting who can see your pictures in general with that for your profile picture folder on top.

One of the reasons why I've got a custom channel role. That way, I don't have to deal with what may or may not be in which preset.

Ok, so I found that under privacy groups there is an option to set a default posting group. Out of the box this was set for me. I took those settings off, and now by default my posting is set to public!
