What's the best replacement for
#TrueCrypt in 2023? Looking for something with no back doors and reliable code that's (ideally) been verified by a third party/reputable security researchers, the way TrueCrypt once was.
I've been using an old version for years but a friend needs something to use to protect journalistic information in a more hostile environment, and I suspect what I use is no longer robust enough for that.
