My husband is unreasonably excited by any example of putting one form of transportation on another form of transportation. This reached perfection in his eyes when we went on a journey with folding kayaks and folding bikes each could be carried on the other.
"We are unstoppable! We could circle the earth!"
The folding kayaks were a cool idea but VERY heavy and needed a bike trailer to tow them. So... I was not as excited... but it still was a lot of fun.
Anyway he loves this photo.

OIK, but putting transport on other transport can look very cool!
Some of my favorite examples are from the recovery of some old and abandoned Orient Express wagons, which were picked up by a crane and put on a ship for transport back home.
(Of course, I'm having some issues finding the particular photo.)

Tho, in Germany many trains neglected storage. And depending on the route I would not feel save with the bike there (have seen luggage drop)
Tho normally it fits nicely between seats that are back to back.
And ofc no comparison to flights, where some people even take too large stuff as carryon, so others cannot stove away their stuff.

This is the one we used for our proper kayaks. The folding kayaks were just a notion and didn't work very well.
You can pull TWO kayaks with just one bike.

a friend of mine sometimes cycles with an inflatable boat on her bike to the next town up river, where there's a vegan doughnut shop she likes, buys a box of doughnuts, inflates the boat, straps the bike to it, and paddles back home snacking on doughnuts. I do not think I could do that trip but I'm impressed.

Back when I lived on the French coast near Cannes, I had an inflatable paddleboard that could both carry a surprising amount of luggage, and also pack into a rucksack.
I didn't have a car there, but the buses and trains were great for getting up and down the coast with a heavy pack. Unfortunately a slipped disk soon curtailed my trips, but it was good while it lasted. I'd moved back to the UK by the time I was fit to paddle again, but the paddleboard made it back with me on the plane ok.
My office was also on the shore, with a convenient landing point right outside the gates, and I'd had an aspiration to commute the two miles in by paddleboard one day. Never got the opportunity in the end, but I think it would have been do-able. Usually I walked in, and another of my colleagues on the same route used to zip past me on an electric unicycle. I wonder if a unicycle / inflatable board combination would work as a minimalist amphibious travel mode.
