@alttexthalloffame I alt-text all of my images. It is difficult for many to describe an image and they don't feel up to it.

I wouldn’t even call it help. (assuming you’re talking about alt-text).

I think it’s part of Fedi culture. I mostly see people get upset who haven’t been around for more than a year or two.It seems to me that they’re the same group of people who get upset when reminded of other well established aspects of Fedi culture, like CWs or hashtags.

And I guess it’s partly to do with having been told “Mastodon is like Twitter”
