Why is Meta/Facebook interested in the Fediverse? Why do they federate Threads?
Everyone seems to have opinions on whether its good or bad, but I haven't heard a rational or detailed answer as to WHY they think so, and WHY Meta even cares.
Does anyone have any theories or leads about it? I want to know a real reason, not "for user freedom", or "decentralization is better". A real reason would explain clearly how a profit-making company makes more profit.
