Saw on Fedi today inappropriate use of
#AltText. Alt text is meant to describe images to those that are blind or visually impaired. It is not there for you to add editorial commentary or jokes without describing the image. I’m not saying that you’re alt text should be dull or bland but it should actually describe the image first. Have fun with it! Alt text can be beautiful, it can be poetic, vivid, funny, enlightening, exhilarating, but it must still describe the image. I also fully welcome personality or easter eggs in alt text but still describe the image. If you need help, use
