@fedicat All of Friendica's descendants created by Friendica's own creator over almost 15 years are still built in PHP.

Of these, Hubzilla, a direct fork of Friendica from 2012 (actually became Hubzilla in 2015), the streams repository from 2021 and Forte from 2024 are still alive and kicking. At least (streams) would make for a nice Facebook alternative right now.
