When I bought my house 14 years ago, I stuffed it with Cat6A cables and put RJ45 wall outlets almost everywhere. Not that I had equipment that could do 10Gbit, but I thought it would be nice to be prepared.
And now... Look at this beauty: a second hand Arista 7050TX-64 that gives me no less than 48 10Gbit ports, and even 4 40Gbit ones if I buy the right SFP modules 😎
Now all I need is 2 NICs that can do 10Gbit, and my planned Proxmox cluster will fly.
