♲ @dcleverley@pluspora.com: Important announcement for our pod.
It is with a heavy heart, I mourn the death of 49 people in Christchurch New Zealand at the hands of a terrorist shooter. This is not the first such attack, not the most heinous, perhaps. But it is relevant to this pod because the people involved with the attack used social in a particular way.
They posted a manifesto on social media.
They live streamed the event.
Because of this, we have decided that there is a need to reduce the risk of copycat incidents within our social media platform. To do so, any person on Pluspora pod sharing the images of the Livestream of the shooting for the purpose of glorifying the shooting and encouragement will have their account either locked or permanently banned. Anyone doing so on other pods may also have their accounts locked or banned from access to our pod.
This doesn't mean the event can't be posted about, or discussed. It's about context.
I fully expect no one will be affected by this, since you are all excellent humans. Be excellent to each other. :)
