Hubzilla Support Forum I'm trying to help providing some insight in why comment federation from Hubzilla to Friendica is causing problems. In order to do this, I set up a fresh Friendica node and a fresh hub, both specifically for testing and generating log files.
Here's what I did, in short:
- Created a second account on the test hub in addition to the admin account
- Activated the pubcrawl addon and installed the ActivityPub app on both HZ accounts
- Connected the HZ admin account to both the Friendica account and the secondary HZ account (no connection between secondary HZ account and Friendica)
- Turned on logging on both Hubzilla and Friendica
- Wrote a test post on Hubzilla admin account
- Wrote a comment on test post from both Friendica and secondary Hubzilla accounts
- Turned logging off
The accounts are as follows:
Hubzilla admin: @
TanjaHubzilla secondary: @
Lazy TeddyFriendica: @
TanjaThe post in question can be found
here.
The comment from @
Tanja shows on both Hubzilla accounts, the comment from @
Lazy Teddy only shows on the other Hubzilla account, not on Friendica (which seems to be the norm.)
I did some more testing with my main account (this one), and even created one on a 3rd party server (apologies to @
Mark Nowiasz for abusing his generosity of running an open hub this way, but I wanted to make sure :-).) The results were the same; however: During this testing (see
here) I noticed from my Friendica account that the only comments I can't see over there are those from other Hubzilla connections. It looks like the one person on Hubzilla who commented on that has the AP app installed; I've seen re-shares from Mastodon accounts from him.
The log files generated during the above exchange can be found here:
https://hub.lazyteddy.eu/cloud/tanja/friendica-hubzilla-logsI also put screenshots of the delivery reports in there for good measure.
The log files don't mean anything to me, but maybe they will help tracking this down once and for all, whenever somebody who
does know how to read them has time to look into it.
Hope this is gonna help.
