I tried to stop Akroma’s printed design because I thought a “kitchen sink design” didn’t match the flavor of the character. I designed a version that I felt did, that the creative team liked, but the rest of R&D preferred the one we printed, so it didn’t change.

Just out of curiosity, why are griefers considered a subset of Timmy/Tammy? Because one could argue that something like “I’m gonna build a deck specially designed to create the worst playing experience I can possibly imagine” ala copying Sharazhad a ton of times or stealing every lands better reflects the self expression of Johnny/Jenny

The recent ask about Alice in Wonderland got me thinking… So far, all of your Universes Beyond releases have been in partnerships with other companies, often timed to come out at the same time as products or events from the other company. Would it be possible to see UB products from public domain works? Or are you more likely to take those public domain works and use them to build new planes, like you did with Eldraine and Theros?

More feedback than a question but I have really been enjoying the style of transforming double faced cards that tend to change states more than once game. Cards such as the actual Transformers, the day/night cards and Doric, Nature’s Warden. They all add some really interesting decisions that multiple points of tension and decision making. If possible I would like to see more of this space explored where cards will flip back and forth.

An early version of Champions of Kamigawa had a mechanic representing martial art moves. It didn’t really fit with the rest of the set and was removed.

What’s the design reasoning behind “activate as sorcery” in Gollum, Patient Plotter? In a supplemental set I can’t see complexity being a problem. That text made the card so less fun and easy to deal with as a graveyard sac outlet.

Yes. Chandra, Ajani, and Ashiok have been confirmed as still having a spark. There are others.
