Some lore speaks to Zendikar’s Roil being an immune system like response to the Eldrazi. Come the time of Zendikar Rising, the Eldrazi are all gone, are they not? But I believe the Roil still exists. Is Zendikar in the end stage of fighting off a disease where it’s no longer infected but still recovering, or is it permanently damaged by the infection? Or was the immune system metaphor wrong?

This is the philosophical argument behind Nahiri and Nissa's conflict in Zendikar Rising. IMO the Roil is here to stay, Zendikar is just changed, and the problem was that Nahiri wasn't ready to accept it.

From the MKM stories and Epilogue about Alquist Proft’s intelligence, cleverness, and deductive reasoning, I got to wondering about how Proft actually views himself compared to Niv-Mizzet. If the Firemind is the most intelligent being on Ravnica, and his intelligence is beyond comprehension to most beings, where do you think Proft places on an IQ test compared to Niv?

Kyodai is theorized by fans to be the equivalent of the worldsoul of Kamigawa, yes. Similar beings exist elsewhere, although they don’t have specific names (Zendikar, Amonkhet).

I would love to hear some of your theories or insight you have (that you can publicly disclose) on Garruk’s future in the story of Magic. He’s my favorite character, and I feel like whenever he shows up, he’s here and then gone for years again.

I like Garruk. I absolutely can’t speculate on his future.

Garruk historically has been in the tough spot of being “another green planeswalker”. It’s unfortunate.

It's a quote from the saga of Chainer's Torment, a diegetic version of the novel. Look, it's from the first set we got Sagas in and got a little weird. It's not really unheard of for Magic novels to have in-universe versions of themselves.
