I am getting old. Here are some things I need to tell you. These are things I believe. I do not ask you to believe them as this is not a debate. I'm more concerned with finding out if any other human being on this entire bloody planet has a similar or compatible belief system. It's possible I'm alone in my beliefs, but the probability that others share at least a few of these beliefs is non-zero. It's just something I'd like to know.

The universe and the nature of the universe are not what you think and not what you've been told. They are far more incredible than you ever imagined.
So what is the nature of the universe?
I do not have the intellectual capacity to fully understand it. Neither do you. Neither does/did Hawking or Sagan or even Einstein.
Say thanks that you exist at all. I don't care who or what you say it to because literally everything is a part of this fascinating experience.
Life exists or has existed on Mars. They've proved it over and over again. Then when faced with acknowledging this, they tried to find something wrong with the tests. The more tests they've come up with, the more this pattern has repeated. There have been a lot of tests. I've chosen to just accept it and move on. You can choose whatever you're comfortable believing.
Assuming life exists on Mars, the probability of it existing elsewhere in the universe is non-zero and possibly a "huge" number. And even if it is proven beyond any reasonable doubt that life does not exist on Mars, the probability of life existing elsewhere in the universe is still non-zero but maybe only a "large" number. Are we all alone spinning through space on this rock? Take a course in probability and statistics before you answer.
It is entirely possible that consciousness is a fundamental and integral property of the space-time continuum. I didn't say "life", I said "consciousness". The two concepts are very closely related. How? I do not have the intellectual capacity to understand. Neither do you.
Consciousness is infinite. How this relates to biomechanics and life is an interesting concept to ponder. Why do we die? It's a trick question. In fact life itself doesn't actually die. It continually regenerates and takes on new forms in different little pockets of spacetime. Do "we" actually die? I don't think so. See the next item.
Time exists. All of it. The past and the future. And right now. We cannot perceive it, yet it exists. I know this first hand. It's OK if you don't believe me. You will not believe it until you experience it first hand, even though this has been validated by science.
Now back to death. If space and time continually exist, so do you, because you are an integral component in their continuum. I lose a lot of people on this concept, so believe whatever makes you comfortable.
Wealth is the most seriously fucked up concept on our planet. I also know you will not appreciate this until you've actually touched it. It is surrounded by evil. Where you find one of these you will certainly find the other.
The holy books are all true, or at least they started that way. Our ancestors invented books and language for the sole purpose of telling us that "shit happened" which they could not fully explain and which could have a profound affect on human life going forward. While true, the distortion and translation losses of the original message over time has rendered a lot of these stories less than useful in the present era. Still do not laugh at or ridicule them. Try your best to extract the original message/story. Our ancestors were a whole lot smarter than we usually give them credit for.
