How will the U.S. election affect you?

I know Fedi isn't always the best platform for having substantive conversations, but if people are up for sharing, I'm genuinely interested in hearing people's reflections on how the upcoming U.S. election will affect them.  I'm interested in reflections from both USians and non-USians.

Does anything change for you personally if the U.S. election goes one way vs. another?  If so, what changes and how?

It's hard to know really. Donald Trump is a chaos candidate, and I don't feel able to predict what he will do or accomplish or unleesh. Right now, he is demonizing immigrants and transgender people, and, once we start blaming societal problems with complex causes on particular groups of people, I vaguely feel like no one is safe, and disabled people could be next.

I'm a person of relative privilege, living in a very blue state, so I'm not sure I'm in immediate personal danger depending on the outcome of the U.S. election. I am somewhat concerned about my daughter entering teen years and adulthood in a country that is already taking rights away from women, and that situation will get worse if Trump wins, but given our situation I think we'll probably be all right.

I am more immediately concerned about the well-being of my trans friends if it gets harder for them to access needed healthcare.
