Yeah, and they're all going to be needing some iced water soon, where they're headed. A friend of mine reminded me, why the American revolution, that war for independence was so very special in the annals of war and revolution. You'll see, that prior to the 1776 declaration of independence, the American colonists, had been practicing and perfecting the system of self governance for more than one hundred and fifty years. They were practiced in the art, science and politic of self rule and respect for life, liberty and rights of man. They weren't overthrowing their culture, nor were they overthrowing the British culture or way of life, they were simply, separating from them, their tyranny and their stubborn attitudes, for change.
The complete opposite occurred in the French Revolution, which was, one could make an argument, a precursor to all revolutions to follow, including the communist revolution of Russia. Neither the French or the Russians learned how to govern themselves. They had no system or institutions promoting representative rule and that explains, in simplistic terms, why there were differences. All revolutions do not end well. In fact, the American war for independence is the exception, rather than the rule.
What does this have to do with people that want to strip us of our rights? Everything, because we have a common culture, well most of us still do, it's up to us to preserver what's ours and we still have our institutions for self rule. Despite the opposition to what we hold dear, we still have the power in our hands if we'd only just see it. Nobody is shutting us up, nobody is going to be permitted to disarm us, because our culture will not allow it. If and when this link is read, it is a reminder of the small intellects, who dare to challenge our
way.#
